Venture Capitalists(Welsed & Self Advocate of Bay Area collective The Understudies) have wrapped up their brand new full length LP Rate of Exchange, and are preparing to release the album through Study Music / WeedTRACKERmusic Tuesday, March 24th, along with a free Limited Edition 7″ record . We got our advance copy over the weekend and it hasn’t left the CD player yet. The production is 1/2 synthesized bangers by Welsed, with sparringly used, choice samples, while the other 1/2 plays out through endless dusty loops and beat up drum breaks by Self Advocate. This album is a no-frills introspective look at life through the eyes of two of Sacramanto’s finest emcees. So be on the lookout for Rate of Exchange, and when you see Welsed be sure to give him props on this DOPE album cover.
